I drove to Averbode to explore the meadow and forest next to the abbey with Marlous & Simon for their couples photography session.

I discovered this beautiful spot on the world wide web after looking for an open spot with some forest around it, for AGES! Eventually I found this epic location and Marlous & Simon met me there.

Marlous is a dutchie and Simon is from Belgium. They met somewhere on a beach in France three years ago and now they live in Antwerp together. I admire Marlous, who left the Netherlands behind for love. I know, Belgium is not far, but leaving friends and family behind, is always tough.

We had so much fun exploring the meadow and the woods! Marlous warned me that Simon is a bit awkward in front of the camera, but I had them soon goofing off with each other and that made some good shots.

They told me they weren't a 'cheesy' couple, so they challenged me to come out of my shell and try other things that were a bit more chill and cool. A bit more surf - because that is what they both like. So that was a good lesson for me.

I can't stress enough how much I enjoy adventuring with new people and getting to know them and getting them chill in front of the camera. It's always a pleasure to hear at the end of a session that they had FUN! That is the most important part for me. Fotoshoots can definitely be fun!
